  • Exam will be of Objective Type.
  • Questions will be in the form of MCQs.
  • Total Number of Questions in this exam will be 150 questions.
  • Maximum Marks for this exam will be 150 marks.
  • Every question will be of 1 mark.
  • Time allocated for this exam will be of 3 hours.
  • There will be no Negative Marking.

Indian Constitution and its features, Central and State Legislature, Executive & Local Government Institutions, Judicial Institutions, History, Geography, Culture& Economy, Agriculture of India and Punjab, Science & Technology, Current Affairs (National and International).

b)    Quantitative Aptitude & Numerical Skills
Simplification, Average, Decimals and Fractions, Ratios and Proportions, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Time and Work, Bar graphs and line graphs, Number systems, Speed, Time and Distance, Mensuration.

c)    Mental and Logical Ability
Number and Letter Series, Sequencing, Classification & Analogy, Coding & De-coding, Missing number, Puzzles, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Statements & Conclusions, Pattern Completion, Order and Ranking, Direction and Distances, Relationship Problems.

English Language skills including Reading Comprehension/Passage, Translation from Punjabi to English, Phrase Replacement, Close Test, Para jumbles/Odd one out, Sentence Rearrangement and Correction, Error Spotting, Fill in the blanks, Spelling Correction, Vocabulary (Synonyms/Antonyms, One Word Substitution).

Punjabi Language skills including Sentence Completion and Structuring, Error Detection, Synonyms/Antonyms, One Word Substitution, Translation from English to Punjabi, Reading Comprehension/Passage, Idioms and Phrases.

f)     Digital Literacy & Computer Awareness
Fundamentals of Computers, Creating of Directories and Sub Directories, MS Office (Word, Excel & Power Point), Internet, Worldwide web& Web search engines, Social Networking, Video & Photo sharing, Email Communication, Mobile Phones (basic conceptual knowledge),Operating Systems, Computer Hardware, OTT/Instant messaging.

Document Scrutiny

Candidates called for Stage 2 of the selection process shall be required to report for document scrutiny on the designated date(s) and time at the place mentioned in the Admit Card. Details of the same would be uploaded on the Recruitment Portal. Candidates shall be required to bring the following certificates in original along with one self-attested copy of each document:

  1. Matriculation certificate for proof of age.
  2. Graduation degree or equivalent. If applying for the post of Intelligence Assistant, additional certificate regarding relevant qualification as prescribed, apart from the above.
  3. Proof of having passed Punjabi at Matriculation level or equivalent.
  4. Certificate, issued by the Competent Authority, to support claim for reserved category, if any.
  5. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Head of Department/Office concerned, in case of candidates, who are serving government employees.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Candidates applying for vacancies shall meet the physical standards of height as mentioned below :-

Physical Screening Test (PST)

The Physical Screening Test(PST)shall be qualifying in nature, and shall comprise of the following events for both Intelligence and Investigation Cadre of Punjab Police:

Candidate Events in the Physical Screening Test
For Male Candidates (except Ex-Servicemen of and above 35 years) 800 meters run to be completed in 4:00 minutes (only one chance)
Long Jump 2.75 meters (3 chances)
High Jump 0.90 meters (3 chances)
For Ex-Servicemen Male Candidates (35 years and above) (a) 800 meters run/walk to be completed in -6:00 minutes (only one chance)
For Female Candidates 400 meters run to be completed in 2:00 minutes(only one chance)
Long Jump 1.80 meters (3 chances)
High Jump 0.75 meters (3 chances)
