What is Agneepath Yojana/ Agnipath Scheme?

Indian Agneepath Yojana is a recruitment of personnel below officer rank in the Indian Army. Defence Minister has launched the Agneepath Yojana for Youth Both Male & Females (progressively based on Service requirements). 1st Rally of Agneepath Yojana will be Conducted in 90 Days.

भारतीय अग्निपथ योजना भारतीय सेना में अधिकारी रैंक से नीचे के कर्मियों की भर्ती है। रक्षा मंत्री ने पुरुषों और महिलाओं दोनों के लिए अग्निपथ योजना शुरू की है (उत्तरोत्तर सेवा आवश्यकताओं के आधार पर)। अग्निपथ योजना की पहली रैली 90 दिनों में आयोजित की जाएगी।

Number of Vacancies for Agneepath Yojana:

Agniveer – 25,000+ Posts

Age Limit for Agneepath Yojana:

  • 17½ – 23 Years (The Upper Age Limit For Recruitment As Agniveer Has Been Relaxed From 21 Years To 23 Years As A Onetime Measure For The Recruiting Year 2023-24.)

Average Age

  • Present Average Age – 32 Years
  • Average Age will come down : 24 – 26 Years

Duration of Agneepath Yojana:

  • Training Duration – 10 Weeks —6 Months.
  • Service Duration – 04 Years.

Requirements to Join Agneepath Yojana:

  • Educational Qualifications – 10th /12th Pass (As per terms & conditions issued by the Armed Forces).
Trade Education Qualification
Agniveer (General Duty) (All Arms) Class 10th /Matric with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. For boards following grading system of D grade (33% – 40%) in individual subjects or equivalent of grade which contains 33% and overall aggregate in C2 grade or equivalent corresponding to 45% in aggregate
Agniveer (Technical) (All Arms)

Agniveer (Technical) (Aviation & Ammunition Examiner)

10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with min 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
OR
10+2/ Intermediate exam pass from any recognized State Education Board or Central Education Board to include NIOS and ITI course of minimum one year in required field with NSQF level 4 or above.
Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper (Technical) (All Arms) 10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/ Accounts / Book Keeping in Class XII is mandatory.
Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms) 10th pass (i) Class 10th simple pass.
(ii) No stipulation in aggregate percentage, but should have scored 33% in each subject.
Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms) 8th Pass (i) Class 8th simple pass.
(ii) No stipulation in aggregate percentage, but should have scored 33% in each subject.
  • System would be put in place  to give 12th Class Certificate to Agniveers.
  • Raising of technical threshold — Recruitment through ITIs.
  • Medical and Physical fitness standards as per extant norms.

Pay & Allowances of Agneepath Yojana:

Individuals enrolled under this Scheme will be paid an Agniveer package of Rs. 30,000/- per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship, Dress and Travel allowances will be paid.

  • Yearly Pay Package — 4.76 Lakhs in 1St Year to 6.92 Lakhs in 4th Year.
  • On completion of 4 Years of Service — Approximate 11.7 Lakhs including contribution & interest.
  • 30% Monthly emoluments to be contributed by Agniveers and equal matching amount contributed By the Govt.
  • Income Tax Exempt
  • Non-Contribution – Insurance Cover

Selection Process of Agneepath Yojana:

  • Written Test through Common Entrance Examination (CEE)
  • Physical Standards & Physical Fitness Test (At Rally Site)
  • Medical Test
  • BONUS MARKS IN CEE

Candidates will login after –/–/2023 and take printout of the admit card which they will carry to Rally Site. Admit Card for the rally will be sent through registered email from –/–/2023 to –/–/2023. Candidate should reach the venue on given date and time as mentioned in the Admit Card. The date and venue are tentative and might be changed.
