About GPSC :-
The Gujarat Public Service Commission was constituted on 01-05-1960 as per the provisions of the Constitution of India.
Functions of the Commission
The following functions have been assigned to the Gujarat Public Service Commission under Article 320 of the Constitution of India.
পরিচালনা Conducting examinations for recruitment in state services. Advising – 1. Matters relating to recruitment procedures in various civil services of the State; 2. Policies to be followed in providing appointments and promotions in the civil services of the State, transfer from one service to another and in qualifying candidates for such appointments, promotions and transfers; 3. All disciplinary issues affecting government employees; 4. Demand for reimbursement of legal costs incurred by government employees in defending themselves in the legal proceedings against them for the work done or performed by them in the performance of their duties; 5. Demand for payment of injury-pension to government employees; And 6. any other matter which may be referred to the Commission by His Excellency the Governor.
This function has been created in accordance with the provisions of Article (3) of Article 320 of the Constitution of India, subject to limitations imposed by the Gujarat Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) Regulations, 1960.
