So, Here in this Article we will discuss the detailed syllabus of Teaching Posts. Many of the candidates are unaware about selection process, syllabus and pattern of NVS. Exam Pattern of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Teaching Posts:

Exam Pattern is as follows :-

  • Questions will be in the form of MCQs.
  • Total Number of Questions in this Exam will be 150.
  • Maximum Marks for this Exam will be 150.
  • Each Question will be of 1 mark.
  • The test will be of 3 hours duration without any time limit for each part of the test individually.

For the post of Principal:

Part-VI Language Competency Test (General English and General Hind-10 marks each subject). This part is Qualifying in nature  only with minimum 40% marks  in each language. Port Ito V of the candidate will not be evalu-ated, it he/she fails to attain qualifying marks in Part-VI. 20 20

Exam Syllabus of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Teaching Posts:

General English/ Hindi : Verb, preposition, adverb, subject verb agreement, Error Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.

General Awareness : In this objective of questions about general knowledge of surrounding society of the candidates to test the awareness about surrounding activities. So, candidates should must focus on affairs about India and neighbor countries. Scientific Progress/Development, National/International Awards, Indian Languages, Books, Script, Capital, Currency, Sports-Athlete such as essential knowledge.

Reasoning : It will include the question of both verbal and non-verbal type. Question will be asked from analogies, similarities and and differences, problem solving, relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns etc.

Quantitative Aptitude Test : Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages, Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which have to be focused.

Administration & Finance : CCS (CCA) Rules, CCS (Conduct) Rules, CCS (Leave) Rules, Fundamental & Supplementary Rules, Pension Rules & New Pension Scheme, Traveling Allowance Rules, Leave Travel Concession Rules, Medical Attendance Rules, Income Tax & Service Tax and Provident Fund Rules.

Education Planning & Teaching Aptitude :

Child Development and Pedagogy :

(i) Development of Child : Development, Growth & Maturation – Concept & Nature, Principles of development, Factors influencing Development – Methods and Approaches of Child Development – observation, Interview, Case study, Experimental, Cross sectional and longitudinal, Development tasks and Hazards.

(ii) Understanding Learning : Concept, Nature of Learning – input- process- outcome, Factors of Learning – Personal and Environmental, Approaches to Learning and their applicability – Behaviourism (skinner, Pavlov, Thorndike) Constructivism (piaget, Vygotsky), Gestalt (Kohler, Koffka) and Observational (Bandura), Dimensions of Learning – Cognitive, Affective and Performance, Motivation and Sustenance – its role in learning, Memory & Forgetting, Transfer of Learning.

(iii) Pedagogical Concerns : Teaching and its relationship with learning and learner, Learners in Contexts: Situation learner in the socio-political and cultural context. Managing behavior problems, Guidance & Counseling, Punishment and its legal implications, Rights of a child, Time Management, Distinction between Assessment for Learning & Assessment of Learning, School based Assessment, Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation: Perspective & Practice Understanding teaching & learning in the context of NCF, 2005 & Right to Education Act, 2009.

Perspectives In Education And School Organization :

  1. Acts/ Rights: Right of Children to free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 and Child Rights.
  2. National Curriculum Framework, 2005: Perspective, Learning and Knowledge, Curricular Areas, School Stages and Assessment, School and classroom Environment and Systemic Reforms.
  3. School Organization: Institutional Planning, principal as a leader, Teacher Quality, Linkages and Interface with other institutional and vice versa, Student Quality, Organization of Teaching, Co-curricular Activities, Office Management, Resources required for a good school, Organizational Climate, Evaluation, Job satisfaction of the staff.

Teaching Methodology :

  1. Curriculum: Meaning, Principles, types of curriculum organization, approaches.
  2. Planning: Instructional Plan- Year Plan, Unit Plan, Lesson Plan
  3. Instructional material and resources: Text Books, Work books, Supplementary material AV aids, Laboratories, Library, Clubs- Museums- Community, Information and Communication Technology.
  4. Evaluation: Types, tools, Characteristics of a good test, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation, Analysis and Interpretation of Scholastic Achievement Test.
