Age Limit of PSSSB Various Posts:
Age limit of the candidate for the above posts as directed by the Punjab Government The date on 01.01.2022 should be as under:-
- The General Category candidate should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 37 years of age.
- The maximum age limit for a candidate belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of the State of Punjab will be 42 years.
- The maximum age limit for state and central government employees will be 45 years with exemption from the upper age limit.
- Upper age limit in case of ex-servicemen residing in Punjab Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen Rules, 1982 will be subject to periodic amendments. This age limit will be deemed to have been met if the remaining age after service in the Army has been reduced to *3 years* after the reduction in their age.
- The maximum age limit for Diwang candidates residing in Punjab will be 47 years with a waiver of 10 years from the upper age limit.
- The upper age limit for widows, divorcees and certain other categories of married women as per instructions issued by the Government of Punjab vide letter No. 1/50/83-5PP(1368)/3454 dated 23.04.1984 will be relaxed up to 40 years.

Or (iii) Should have obtained diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician of three years from a recognized University after passing Matriculation with Science examination followed by one year work experience after diploma on or before publication of these rules. |
| Milk Recorder | (i) Should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Commerce ; and (ii) Should possess at least one hundred and twenty hours course with hands on experience in the use of Personal Computer or Information Technology in Office Productivity applications or Desktop publishing applications from a Government recognized institution or a reputed institution, which is ISO 9001, Certified. Or iii) Possess a Computer Information Technology course equivalent to “O” level certificate of the Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Course (DOEACC) of Government of India. |
| Enumerator/ Computer/ Puncher | (i) Should Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Commerce ; and (ii) Should possess at least one hundred and twenty hours course with hands on experience in the use of Personal Computer or Information Technology in Office Productivity applications or iii) Desktop Publishing applications from a Government recognized institution or a reputed institution, which is ISO 9001, Certified. | Livestock Supervisor | (i) 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subject from a recognized University / Board; and (ii) Should posses diploma in Veterinary Science and Animal Health Technology of two years duration or its equivalent from any recognized University; Provided that the candidates who are currently enrolled in diploma in Veterinary Science and Animal Health Technology or the candidates who have obtained diploma in Veterinary Science and Animal Health Technology with 10+2 in Biology /Math, Physics, Chemistry and English, shall also be eligible for appointment to the post of Livestock Supervisor. |
| Autoclave Operator/ Machine Operator | (i) Matric or 10+2; and (ii) Two years’ Certificate Mechanical Trade from an Industrial Training Institute; (iii) Persons with knowledge of running and maintenance of bulk sterilizer electrical or steam heaters in the case of Auto Clave Operators will given preference. |
| Poultry Store Keeper | (i) B.Sc. with Zoology as one of the subjects. OR (ii) B.Sc. Zoology; and (iii) Minimum six months training course related with Poultry from any recognized university. |
| Laboratory Technician (Animal Husbandry) | (i) B.Sc. Biology, Micro biology / Biotechnology from a recognized University ; and (ii) Should possess at least one hundred and twenty hours course with hands on experience in the use of Personal Computer or information Technology in Office Productivity applications or Desktop Publishing applications from a Government recognized institution or reputed institution, which is ISO 9001, certified. Or (iii) Possess a Computer Information Technology course equivalent to “O” level certificate of the Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Course (DOEACC) of Government of India. |
| Assistant Chemist | Should possess a Degree from any recognized university with Chemistry as one of the subject OR Graduate with Animal Nutrition as one of the subject OR Graduate in Food Processing or Diary Technology. |

| Restorer | Should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized Board with Punjabi as one of the subjects. |
| Laboratory Technician (Fisheries) | Graduate in Lab Technician or Biology or Chemistry or Bio Technology or Micro Biology or Bio Informatics or Forensic Science or Nursing from a recognized University or Institution. |
| Laboratory Assistant (Fisheries) | I) Should have passed Matriculation examination from a recognized board or institution with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subject); and ii) Should have at least one year experience as Laboratory Attendant in any institute recognized by the Government. |
| Multipurpose Fisheries Skilled Worker | Should possess diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or institution. |
Knowledge of Punjabi Language – No person shall be appointed to any post in any service by direct appointment unless he has passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language which may be specified by the Government from time to time.”
