Eligibility Criteria:
- The person has been practicing law for a minimum of 10 years, or
- A person belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes has practiced law for a minimum of seven years, or
- A woman who has practiced law as a practitioner of law for a minimum of seven years, or
- A person with a benchmark disability defined in section (r) of section 2 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016) who has been practicing as a legal practitioner for at least seven years, or
- For a minimum of ten years-
- Has been a member of the Judicial Service, or
- After enrolling as a lawyer, he has held a position under the Central Government or the State Government, or
- The judge should have held a position in the Advocate General’s Division or the Law Department of the Ordnance Force.

Application in the prescribed form with full details like full name, full address, date of birth, educational qualification, caste, 15 years residence certificate, job registration number etc., duly supported along with attested copy of the certificate issued by the appropriate authority. Passport size photo pasted on the right side of the application. Applications will be accepted through registered post / speed post in the office of Principal Secretary, Justice, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Bahakhandi Bhavan, Secretariat, Lucknow.
